And The Dice · Last updated 2026-06-29
Short version: And The Dice shows no ads, runs no third-party analytics or tracking, and never sells your data. Offline play (solo, pass-and-play, and the scorekeeper) stays on your device. Online multiplayer needs an account, so a small amount of data, the display name and avatar you pick, your dice theme, your moves, and whether you're connected, is stored in Google Firebase so games can sync between players.
What the app stores on your device
And The Dice uses your device's local storage (AsyncStorage on mobile, the browser equivalent on web) to remember:
- Your chosen dice theme and color-scheme preference
- Sound and haptics toggles
- Whether you've completed onboarding
- Scorekeeper-mode game state (for in-person games you're tracking)
- A cached flag for whether your Pro subscription is active
None of this is transmitted off your device unless you sign in to play online.
Accounts and online multiplayer
When you sign in to play online, we use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Realtime Database) to run accounts and synchronize games. What we hold depends on how you sign in:
- Guest (anonymous): a random Firebase user ID and nothing else, no email or name.
- Email and password: your email address, used for sign-in and account recovery.
- Google sign-in: your Google account email and basic profile, shared with us through Firebase Authentication.
Your profile stores the display name, avatar color, and dice theme you choose, plus the date the account was created. While you play online we store the game rooms you're in, your moves, your friends list, and presence (whether you're currently connected). Other players in your room can see your display name, avatar, and moves. We do not request your real name, phone number, location, or contacts.
Firebase's handling of this data is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Subscriptions and payments
The And The Dice Pro subscription is sold and processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We receive whether your subscription is active and related purchase metadata. We never receive or store your full payment card details, those stay with Apple or Google. The RevenueCat, Apple, and Google privacy policies apply to that processing.
What we do not collect
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers
- No third-party analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry
- No tracking cookies and no tracking across other apps or websites
- No location data
- No contacts
- No payment card details
Children's privacy
And The Dice is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Data retention and deletion
Local data on your device persists until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
To delete your account and all associated cloud data (your profile, friends, and game membership), email info@buckaisolutions.com from your account email address, or include your display name, and we'll remove it. Online game rooms and their messages are short-lived and are not retained long-term.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date above. Changes are announced in the app's release notes.
